There are at least 17 dead or missing Brits including children in Israel following the Hamas attack.

This up from the previous estimate of ‘more than 10’, the BBC reports.

The conflict has had an immediate global impact, with several countries reporting nationals killed, abducted or missing.

Among them are the UK, the US, Brazil, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Nepal, Thailand and Ukraine.

Among those killed was 20-year-old Nathanel Young, a Briton serving in the Israeli Defence Services (IDF) who died on the Gaza border on Saturday.

Another includes Bernard Cowan, a Cottish grandfather who settled in the country with his family.

Two other UK nationals – 26-year-old Jake Marlowe, who went to the same school in London as Mr Young, and photographer Dan Darlington – are also believed to be missing.

Since the start of the invasion at least 1,200 have been killed in Israel while officials in Gaza say 900 people have been killed.

At least 140 Palestinian children have been killed by the Israeli military as they launched an offensive on Gaza over the weekend, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

Hundreds of Israelis have also been abducted as they attacked towns on Saturday.

This up from the previous estimate of ‘more than 10’.
