    Nine people were injured, with seven taken to the hospital, after a double-decker bus crashed into a bridge in Croydon.

    The latest collision happened on Park Street near George Street in Croydon at about 11.30am today.

    It is the second incident involving a bus in south London within 24 hours after another crash in Southwark yesterday involving two double-deckers.

    Several ambulance crews rushed to the scene, where they discovered nine people had been injured.

    Emergency services were called to a serious bus collision in Croydon at lunchtime today after a vehicle crashed into a building near a busy town centre road.

    It is not known yet whether those injured include passengers, the driver or members of the public, and what the extent of their injuries is.

    The police told UK News that the crash is understood to have been caused by a medical incident.

    No arrests have been made, Met Police confirmed.

    The bus involved was route number 60 heading to Streatham Station.

    It appears to have crashed onto the bridge barrier as it pulled out of Park Street onto Park Lane in front of the Slug and Lettuce restaurant.

    A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: ‘We were called at 11.30am today (19 February) to reports of a road traffic collision on Park Street, Croydon.

    ‘We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars, an incident response officer and a clinical team manager.

    ‘We assessed nine people in total. We took seven patients to a local hospital and discharged the other two at the scene.’

    Yesterday, two double-deckers collided before one of them smashed into the window of Southwark Playhouse Borough Theatre.

    Six people were transported to hospital after bus routes 34 and 333 collided on Newington Causeway in the morning rush-hour.
