Neighbours spoilers: Byron Stone destroyed by devastating loss

Byron Stone (Xavier Molyneux) is set to be left heartbroken in Neighbours next week, with a devastating loss confirmed for the popular character.

It’s been an eventful few months for the Lassiters employee, who found himself swept up in a whirlwind romance with Reece Sinclair (Mischa Barton), whose father is an investor in the hotel.

Reece’s motives and identity were initially kept a secret from Byron, who wanted to know everything there is to know about the woman he was falling for, with Reece eventually filling him in.

While she was reporting back to her father on the state of Lassisters, her primary objective for moving to Erinsborough was actually to locate her sister Krista, who was missing.

Byron was only too keen to help her out, with the pair subsequently conducting their own investigation, which led to them to discover that Krista had been photographed with Eden Shaw (Costa D’Angelo) and Holly Hoyland (Lucinda Armstrong Hall).

Delighted over having made such a breakthrough, Byron and Reece raced back to Ramsay Street in the hopes of confronting Holly and finding out what really happened to Krista.

But there was ultimately tragedy on the cards, with flashback scenes revealing that Krista was dead, with Melanie Pearson (Lucinda Cowden) having played a pivotal role in her demise.

The news will no doubt come as a huge shock to Reece, who clearly loved her sister very much.

Byron, as he’s been since the beginning of the new series, will no doubt prove supportive, but will this devastating discovery spell the end for their relationship?

It’s certainly a possibility, with spoilers for next week confirming that Byron is left devastated by a big loss, so we can’t help but wonder if maybe Reece decides to leave Australia in the wake of this tragedy?

We’ll just have to wait and see.
