Natasha Bedingfield used to ‘hide’ her bum in the early days of her career.
The 41-year-old pop star explained that these days, more ‘realistic’ body standards are embraced by the music industry, but that wasn’t necessarily the case when she started out in the early noughties.
The singer also quipped that she’s ‘lucky’ she never had to undergo surgery in the name of a fuller bum.
Natasha said this week: ‘There is definitely a movement within popular music about embracing real bodies, which is really exciting, and it is amazing to be a part of that.
‘I definitely hid my butt.’
She added to the Sun: ‘There were things on TikTok recently like, “Where has Natasha been hiding that butt?” or “How did she suddenly get that butt?”

‘I am lucky I didn’t have to have surgery to get a butt. I just spent the first half of my life hiding it because it was just not in fashion, so I showed the smallest part of my body, which was my waist.’
Natasha is famously the sister of fellow singer Daniel Bedingfield and released her first album, Single, almost two decades ago.
She’s racked up not only two Brit award nominations throughout her career, but also a Grammy nomination, and her hit Unwritten is still considered a stone-cold anthem.
It was most famously used as The Hills’ theme song and when the show was revamped back in 2019, Natasha worked on an epic, club-friendly remix of her hit, saying at the time: ‘Doing the remix has been really fun.
‘A lot of time with remixes, people take the original vocals and just change all the chords and the beats around it. I wanted to re-sing it. I wanted to take where I’m at now and give it that new spin.’Last month, doting mum Natasha played at Mighty Hoopla and a jaw-dropping video was shared on the festival’s Instagram page of a 30,000-strong crowd singing along to Unwritten in the sunshine.
Commenting on the amazing clip, Natasha – who shares five-year-old Solomon with husband Matt Robinson – wrote: ‘This felt like a proper movie! This moment was so powerful for me! Thank you all.’
