A mother allegedly beat her seven-month-old son to death and then started a fundraiser for his funeral and to buy jewelry with his ashes.

Angel Lynn Marie Varner, 20, admitted to throwing her infant, Jackson Knight Blackmon, on a bed and swaddling him with two blankets after he cried in the living room early in the morning Monday.

Varner ‘applied pressure to his abdomen’ until he quit crying and threw him on the floor in the bedroom, according to court documents obtained by KVII.

The mother told police that she realized her son stopped breathing but went to sleep instead of calling police.

First responders who arrived at the duplex in Amarillo, Texas, found Jackson was already dead. The infant’s autopsy revealed his cause of death to be blunt force trauma.

Varner wrote on a Facebook page for Jackson that her ‘poor baby’ was ‘no longer with us’ and seemed to imply that the reason for his death was a mystery.

The following day, Varner started a GoFundMe page for him.

‘We are raising money for the funeral, memorial, and cremation of mine and Sean’s baby boy,’ wrote Varner, according to KVII. ‘He was the light of our life and soon we will know what happened.’

Varner wrote that she also wanted to purchase an urn and ‘get a few jewelry items that has his ashes in them so he will always be with us’.

On Wednesday, Varner was arrested and charged with one count of murder in the death of her son.

The GoFundMe page has been taken down, with the company stating that ‘the organizer did not receive any of the funds raised’, according to the TV station.

Varner lived at the duplex on the 3200 block of Center Street with Jackson’s father and two other roommates, one whom told cops that the mother took her son to the bedroom from his crib in the living room.

The roommate reported hearing a ‘thud’ from the bedroom hours before Jackson was discovered dead.

Varner is being held at Potter County Jail with her bond set at $250,000.

It is the latest gruesome crime by a mother recently. In August, a mother was sentenced to 50 years in jail for drowning her newborn baby in a bathtub in an attempt to hide methamphetamine in her system. And in September, a mother was jailed for waterboarding her baby and putting him in a freezer.
