Downing Street – Boris Johnson escapes a vote of no confidence by the skin of his teeth. Despite his win in the vote, he suffers a large Tory rebellion. It is understood that senior tori cabinet members like Sajid Javed and Rishi Sunak are vying for an opportunity to strike.
Flight cancellations – Thousands of families are stranded abroad due to flight cancellations. The disruption is being driven by staff shortages across the aviation industry. This has impacted British airways flights globally which have suffered major delays globally.
Movie boycott – Cinemas in Bolton & Blackburn have pulled a film, described as ‘blasphemous’ following protests. Bolton Cineworld will no longer be taking bookings for Our Lady in Heaven following an outcry from some Muslims in the borough.
It has also been banned in Pakistan, Iran and Egypt.
Ukraine War – Ukrainian forces still holding out in the eastern city of Severodonetsk are outnumbered by Russian forces, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said. Severodonetsk and Lysychansk are dead cities.
