‘Hollywood Ripper’ Michael Gargiulo sentenced to death for murder of two women
The i says a convicted murderer nicknamed the “Hollywood ripper” has been sentenced to death for the murder of two women and the attempted murder of a third in Los Angeles in the 2000s.
Victims’ family members wept as Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry P Fidler handed down the sentence to 45-year-old Michael Thomas Gargiulo at an all-day hearing on 14 July.
Gargiulo was convicted of first degree murder in a much delayed trial that concluded in August 2019, according to the Mail Online, with the jury recommending his execution. His sentencing was then further delayed by two years by procedural issues and the covid-19 pandemic.
