It’s a sad day for McDonald’s lovers as prices are about to go up yet again.

We’re still reeling from the previous hike from the fast food brand, when five Maccies favourites got more expensive.

    And here we are again.

The chain hasn’t yet revealed all of the price changes, but it has been confirmed that black and white coffee is going up in price by 20p – from 99p to £1.19.

If you get your coffee there every morning, over a working week, that’s an extra pound out of your pocket.

The price increases will begin from today, but will vary from branch to branch, as McDonald’s doesn’t set prices for its franchises.

A spokesperson said McDonald’s had ‘maintained’ ‘lowered prices across our coffee range’.

They said: ‘Although we have now made a small change to these prices, the price of black and white coffee remains below that of early 2020 – and is actually comparable to price in the majority of our restaurants in 2010.’

Just six weeks ago, five menu items saw a price increase, such as The Mayo Chicken going from 99p to £1.19.

But it isn’t all bad news. Today, the chain is bringing back the Chicken Big Mac and Mighty McMuffin, and introducing the new Steakhouse Stack.

‘Winning Sips’ is being launched too, so customers can try to win prizes while sipping on a medium or large soft drink, including £10,000 cash, free food, and limited-edition merch.

A spokesperson said: ‘We carefully review and adjust our prices to ensure that while some prices may change, we maintain great value and quality across our menu.

‘At the same time, we continue to work hard on how we can provide our customers value where it matters most, from personalised offers and rewards through the MyMcDonald’s Rewards scheme, to promotions such as our newly launched !peel to win” game, Winning Sips.’
