A man has appeared in court charged with the rape of a 15-year-old girl in Edinburgh.
The teenager was attacked in a basement storage area in York Place after being approached at a bus stop on Princes Street at around 5am on Sunday 25 May.
Aaron Strachan, 20, was arrested and charged by Police Scotland in connection with the serious sexual assault.
The suspect appeared before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, where he made no plea to three charges.
He has been accused of rape, assault to severe injury, and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
Strachan, of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody and is due back in the dock within the next week.
