London tower block in flames as 60 firefighters battle blaze minutes away from Grenfell
Daily Express says FIREFIGHTERS are battling a blaze at a London block of flats near Grenfell Tower.
Firefighters were called to the incident at a flat on the 12th floor of a high-rise building on Queensdale Crescent in Shepherd’s Bush just before 9.30am. Eight fire engines and 60 firefighters are attending the blaze, which has been contained.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
An eyewitness, who rang the emergency services, told Express.co.uk: “My neighbour knocked on my door and she told me there was smoke.
“When I looked up I could see it and I rang 999. They’ve said it’s okay now but it’s very scary.”
