Liverpool 1-0 Man City: Coins thrown, vile chants, Klopp red card

Football fans in the Anfield crowd threw coins at Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola during the Liverpool v Man City game on Sunday.

Liverpool won 1-0 in the Premier League game at home.

It was a fiery game of football, with the ref letting a lot of challenges go – but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp being show a red card following a challenge on Mo Salah.

Tempers flared following the disallowing of a Phil Foden goal, but overall Liverpool deserved the win. Despite a rocky start to this seasons premier league, the Reds proved they still have what it takes to find there way back to the top of the table.

Guardiola said the objects were thrown in his direction after Phil Foden’s goal was ruled out by VAR – as City’s unbeaten run came to an end.

Liverpool, meanwhile, condemned “vile” chants from the away end.

“We are deeply disappointed to hear vile chants relating to football stadium tragedies from the away section during today’s game at Anfield. The concourse in the away section was also vandalised with graffiti of a similar nature,” the club said in a statement.

The club have also opened an investigation into the coin throwing.
