Julia Fox has shared a photo taken at her late friend Gianna Valdes’s funeral.
Valdes died suddenly in 2019 from an overdose aged 24.
Fox, 33, took to Instagram on Monday to reflect on her friendship with Valdes and mourn her death.
The Uncut Gems actress told her fans that Valdes was ‘very opinionated,’ adding: ‘I just hope she likes how I wrote about us in the book.’
Fox was referring to her new memoir, Down the Drain, in which she goes into intimate details about her life, discussing everything from her relationship with Kanye West to the struggle she went through in a bid to achieve her dreams.
She then went on to discuss how much she misses Valdes and even shared a photo taken during her funeral, in which Fox could be seen resting her head on Valdes’s open coffin.

Addressing Valdes and her new memoir, Fox wrote on her Instagram stories: ‘I lost my BFF four years ago. She was the love of my life. My soulmate. My sister. My lover and so much more. I know she’s with me now… She was very opinionated so I just hope she likes how I wrote about us in the book.’
Julia also posted a photo of a small piece of metal engraved with the words: ‘In loving memory of our best friend Gianna Valdes, 02/06/1995 – 10/16/2019.’

The back of Valdes’s head was also visible.
Fox wrote: ‘I truly wanted to crawl in there with her and die too because I knew life without her was gonna be horrible and I was right!’
She then posted a photo of her and Valdes during happier times, which she captioned: ‘Best friends forever.’
In her memoir, Fox revealed she’d FaceTimed Valdes – who she first met at an A.A. meeting – the night before her death and her friend seemed ‘happy’ and ‘fine’.
She also said Valdes was with her when she found out she’d been cast in Benny and Josh Safdie’s 2019 movie Uncut Gems, according to Bustle.
