There’s only a day to go until Christmas, and people are rushing to make sure their lunches and dinners are as prepped as can be before the big day.
From turkey to Brussels sprouts, parsnips, stuffing and cranberry sauce, there are plenty of delicious dishes that many would say can’t be missing from the table when they sit down from their meal.
As for This Morning and I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Josie Gibson, she has a superpower hidden up her sleeve – her ability to make utterly magnificent roast potatoes.
In a recent interview at the Metro.co.uk offices, she explained exactly how she does it, revealing the secret ingredient to her culinary success.
Days after coming out of the jungle and returning to the ITV studio, the 38-year-old spoke to us about what she was most looking forward to this Christmas, during which she was asked what she would choose as the ‘ultimate form of potato’.
‘The ultimate form of potato, so how best I’d like the potatoes? So I just don’t think you can beat a roast potato,’ she answered, before going straight into her process for the perfect spud.

‘So what I do is I boil them – not too much, only a tiny bit, so they go a little bit fluffy. And then I heat up the pan, the baking tray, heat that right up, and then I get a tiny bit of rock salt in there or sea salt,’ she began.
‘But then, what I do is I put them in there, put the oil all over them, and then I sprinkle oxo cubes over them and roast them off, and you’ve never had anything so magnificent in your whole entire life.’
Honestly, our mouths are already watering at the thought.
‘Proper flavour. Oxo. Cube. Potato. Together,’ she emphasised.
‘Do you know what – one thing I can do, I can make a good Sunday dinner. That is something I really am good at.’
We have no doubt!

Josie might be a dab hand in the kitchen for Sunday roasts and Christmas dinners, but she isn’t the only This Morning star with that particular skill set – as Great British Bake Off presenter Alison Hammond is also said to be something of a cooking goddess.
‘I’ll tell you who can make a good Christmas dinner – Alison Hammond,’ Josie shared.
‘My goodness. Her Christmas dinners are unbelievable. She puts out so many trays of food. She does curry goat, she does a bit of brown stew chicken, she does turkey, she does roast potatoes, she does cabbage. Everything.
‘I’ve never eaten so much in my whole entire life till I went to Alison’s that Christmas.’
Pretty please can we get an invite next year?

While speaking to Metro.co.uk, Josie also dished on what it was really like being on I’m A Celebrity, revealing that the campmates had to cope with sopping wet underwear thanks to the frequent downpour of rain.
The TV star also addressed the rumours that King of the Jungle Sam Thompson could wind up joining her on the This Morning sofa, if the rumours and predictions turn out to be true.
‘I have seen the rumours that he might be doing something with This Morning and I was like “Can we please keep him?”’ she said.
‘I would love for him to come over to This Morning and be part of the family. He would make such a lovely addition.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
