Indian variant: Up to 75% of new UK cases could be variant – Hancock
Health Secretary Matt Hancock has said up to 75% of new UK Covid-19 cases could be the Indian variant.
Cases of the variant have risen by 3,535 to 6,959 since last week, according to data from Public Health England.
But Hancock has said the government had expected to see a rise in cases as restrictions were being eased.
