Isack Hadjar: “I Don’t Feel Ready” for Red Bull F1 Seat

Racing Bulls driver Isack Hadjar has declared that he “doesn’t feel ready” to step up to Red Bull’s main Formula 1 team just yet, opting instead to continue his development with his current outfit. As one of the standout performers of the 2025 F1 season, Hadjar currently sits ninth in the championship, having played a crucial role in scoring 21 of Racing Bulls’ 28 points.

    Impressive Performance in Formula 2

Last year’s Formula 2 runner-up has garnered attention for his exceptional performances, prompting speculation about a potential promotion to Red Bull Racing in the near future. With Max Verstappen close to a race ban due to penalty points, Hadjar’s name has surfaced as a possible candidate for an unexpected debut in the main team.

    Emphasizing Development Over Promotion

Despite the buzz surrounding his future, Hadjar remains focused on his current trajectory and stresses the importance of gaining experience. “For sure, I don’t feel ready, that’s a fact,” he commented ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix. The 22-year-old believes that staying with Racing Bulls allows him to learn and grow.

“I think it’s good to take experience where I’m at. I’m enjoying every weekend and learning a lot.”

    Cautionary Tales from Teammates

Hadjar also acknowledged the challenges faced by past and present Racing Bulls teammates, Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda, who have struggled after their promotions. “It’s fair to say that,” he revealed. “Because Liam and Yuki are quality drivers, so it’s normal to think that.”

    Identifying Areas for Improvement

Reflecting on his readiness for the next step, Hadjar noted he still lacks experience with a “tricky car” and is keen to develop his technical understanding of F1 machinery. “So far, my cars have been very consistent. I didn’t have weekends where the car felt terrible,” he explained. “I think I maybe haven’t experienced enough… Maybe on the technical aspect, I can still make progress.”

    Future Prospects

With the potential for an early promotion looming, Hadjar remains careful about his next move. His focus, for now, is to continue honing his skills at Racing Bulls and ensuring he is fully prepared when the time comes to make that leap into Red Bull Racing.

As the F1 season unfolds, fans and analysts alike will be closely watching Hadjar’s performance, eager to see if he can maintain his impressive trajectory and ultimately ready himself for a seat at the pinnacle of motorsport.
