The Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 update added a bunch of temples around the island, and here’s how to solve their door puzzles to enter them.

It’s been only a few days since Chapter 4 Season 3 kicked off in Fortnite, sporting a jungle theme and boasting a Transformers crossover, just as we predicted.

As you explore the island, you’ll come across several temples located at the heart of the map. These locked ruin doors hold a wealth of valuable loot and unlocking them requires solving a variety of puzzles.

Similar to vaults, accessing these temples can prove to be quite a challenge, so, here’s a breakdown of what you need to do for each type of puzzle.

How to solve the ‘find flames’ door puzzle

In order to unlock this door, you’ll have to interact with the nearby brazier torches and determine which ones should remain lit.

Regrettably, there isn’t a fixed combination as the pattern is randomised with each game.

To identify the torches that need to be lit, you’ll have to explore the same ruins and locate other torches that share a similar arrangement, then mimic their lighting.

Once all the correct torches are ablaze, the door will open automatically. You can always attempt a trial-and-error approach without inspecting the rest of the temple – though it might take you longer in the end.

How to solve the ‘seek statue’ door puzzle

There’s another type of temple door that will prompt you to ‘seek statue’ for unlocking. Compared to the previous puzzle, this one is relatively straightforward, as you’ll come across a cluster of statues near the temple.

There’s no way to determine which one is the correct statue (Picture: YouTube/HarryNinetyFour)

By interacting with the correct statue, the door will instantly open. However, interacting with the wrong statue will whisk you away into a rift and drop you from the sky – which can come in handy if you’re trying to make a quick escape.

Since all the statues bear a striking resemblance, you’ll have to rely on guesswork each time.

How to solve the ‘give item’ door puzzle

The third type of temple doors you’ll encounter are the ones that will ask you to ‘give items’ in order to unlock them.

Depending on the colour of the smoke emanating from the door, you’ll need to offer an item of equal or higher rarity. Blue smoke demands a rare item, while purple smoke requires an epic item at the minimum.

It’s important to note that any item you give to the door will be gone for good, so, be careful not to lose any powerful weapons or loot. Once you hand over an item of your choice that matches the smoke’s colour the door will open.
