Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson) was fired by Verity Hutchinson (Eva O’Hara) in Hollyoaks after she accused vile Eric Foster (Angus Castle-Doughty) of writing a misogynistic slur on her forehead.
Eric, as viewers know, has targeted Maxine in recent weeks after their blind date ended in disaster.
Maxine came to believe that Eric wasn’t the nice guy he claimed to be, and her suspicions were confirmed when he wrote a horrific comment on her legal text books, branding her an ‘air head’.
The legal secretary-in-training was quick to accuse Eric of being behind the incident, but her own brother Mason Chen-Williams (Frank Kauer) ultimately leapt to Eric’s defence, providing him with an alibi.
Maxine was taken aback, convinced Eric was to blame, and subsequent scenes saw her drown her sorrows in the pub. She set off home, but stumbled into some bin bags in the carpark, where sinister Eric found her and wrote another misogynistic slur on her forehead – using her own lipstick.
Tuesday’s (October 11) first look edition of the Channel 4 soap dealt with the aftermath of the incident.
Maxine struggled to recall the events of the night before, but flashbacks of a man left her worried that she’d been raped.

Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter) accompanied her to the hospital, where Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) later revealed that Maxine had not been sexually assaulted.
But a subsequent flashback left Maxine convinced that Eric was responsible for her torment, and she wasted little time in confronting him about it.
Verity, however, came to her brother’s defence, telling Maxine that she’ll never fulfil her dream of becoming a legal secretary if she makes such ‘wild allegations’ without proof.
What’s more, she asked Maxine to apologise to Eric.

Maxine refused, and thus Verity fired her on the spot, leaving her devastated.
Eric, meanwhile, intends to take his dastardly plans to a whole new level in upcoming scenes, as Maxine’s sister Lizzie (Lily Best) becomes his next target in shocking scenes.
