Heavy rainfall causes flooding in southeastern Texas on Friday, causing chaos and disruption in southeastern Texas.

The torrential downpour led to widespread flooding, prompting schools to cancel classes and forcing the closure of several major highways in the Houston area.

Cars submerged in water and power outages

Images from the affected areas showed cars submerged in water, homes surrounded by floodwaters, and emergency crews working tirelessly to rescue stranded residents. The heavy rainfall also caused power outages and traffic jams, further adding to the chaos.

As the rain continued to pour down, residents braced themselves for more flooding and potential damage to their homes and properties. The community came together to support one another, with volunteers and first responders working around the clock to assist those in need.

    Official warnings came too late

Local officials issued warnings urging residents to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel as the severe weather continued to batter the region.

The National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings for several counties in southeastern Texas, cautioning residents to be vigilant and prepared for potential evacuations.

The severe weather served as a stark reminder of the power of nature and the importance of being prepared for emergencies. As the cleanup and recovery efforts began, residents remained resilient and hopeful for brighter days ahead.
