Harry Potter director wants release of original three-hour cut with Rik Mayall scenes
The Metro says Chris Columbus wants the original three-hour cut of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone to be released – along with Rik Mayall’s performance as a poltergeist.
This month marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the first movie in the Harry Potter franchise, which told the story of a young boy (Daniel Radcliffe) discovering he was a wizard and being sent to the magical school Hogwarts.
The Philosopher’s Stone – known as The Sorcerer’s Stone in the States – is beloved among adults and children alike, but would have been packed with even more magic, if Columbus had his way.
