Strictly Come Dancing staff told to hand over phones in Giovanni Pernice ‘bullying’ probe
BBC staff have had their emails, texts and WhatsApps examined as part of the Strictly Come Dancing bullying probe.
Members of the crew have had their phones searched for references to Giovanni Pernice or Amanda Abbington, who made allegations against the pro dancer.
The subject access request is understood to have been made to the BBC by Amanda’s team, to provide any personal data or information that might shed light on Gio and Amanda’s relationship. A source said: “People complied with it in the hope that it shoots down any claims of a cover-up.”
The investigation was launched by the corporation following allegations that Amanda was subjected to “nasty” bullying by Giovanni for the duration of last year’s show.
Prince William breaks silence on Kate Middleton’s cancer news update after powerful video
Prince William has spoken out about wife Kate completing her chemotherapy treatment as he appeared for royal duties today in the wake of of their personal family film.
The Prince of Wales travelled to Llanelli in South Wales just hours after Kate’s personal cancer announcement for a series of engagements celebrating Welsh sport and culture. He looked relaxed, still sporting his beard, as he arrived for his first engagement of the day at Swiss Valley Community Primary School.
Crowds had gathered at the school to catch a glimpse of William and after he spoke to some who had waited for him. William thanked fans outside the primary school who gave their best wishes to wife Kate and told one, Pauline Thomas, 74: “It’s good news but there is still a long way to go.”
Crowds had waited patiently for hours outside the school in Llanelli to greet the future king, just hours after Kate’s update. Royal fan Sandra Peters, 79, said: “I told him, Bore da, you have a beautiful family, I’m so pleased Kate is recovering. He said thank you very much. He was lovely, he’s so charming.” Alan Evans met him with granddaughter Genevieve sitting on his shoulders. Alan said: “I told him, we all have our burdens. He replied, yes watch your neck! He’s a charming man.”
