Gwyneth Paltrow’s wild ski trial against Terry Sanderson is getting the musical treatment, but you’ve got to bring your own jade eggs.
The Iron Man actress, 51, was sued by the retired optometrist after a crash on the ski slopes at Deer Valley resort in 2016, after he claimed that he was left with several broken ribs and head injuries following a collision.
She fought the case and alleged that the 76-year-old – who was seeking $300,000 in damages – had crashed into her, with a jury eventually finding in her favor and awarding her $1.
The trial was streamed live on YouTube in March, with millions tuning in around the world – and has now been turned into a Christmas-themed stage show.
Yes, seriously.
Gwyneth Goes Skiing is set to hit the Pleasance Theatre in London next month, set to a banging soundtrack by Leland, with Linus Karp playing the movie icon, opposite Joseph Martin’s Terry.

We’re not entirely sure how Christmas fits into the mix, but hopefully that will be explained…
‘She’s the Goop-founding, Door-Sliding, Shakespeare-In-Loving, consciously-uncoupling Hollywood superstar. He’s a retired Optometrist from Utah. In 2016, they went skiing,’ a synopsis on the site read.
‘On the slopes of Deer Valley, their worlds collided, and so did they – literally. Ouch. Seven years later in 2023, they went to court. Double ouch.
‘This is their story. Kind of. Not really. But also, it’s at Christmas.’

‘Join harbingers of queer chaos Awkward Productions (Diana: The Untold & Untrue Story and How to Live a Jellicle Life) as they transform London’s Pleasance Theatre into Deer Valley Ski Resort,’ the message added.
‘A brand new show for Christmas 2023. Starring Linus Karp as Gwyneth Paltrow, Joseph Martin as Terry Sanderson, and featuring original music by Leland (RuPaul’s Drag Race, Cher’s Christmas, Troye Sivan’s Something To Give Each Other).
‘A story of love, betrayal, skiing, and (somehow) Christmas – where you are the jury! Prepare to be gooped. BYOJE (bring your own jade eggs).’
Gwyneth Goes Skiing is set to premiere on December 13, and will run until December 23.

The Goop founder has yet to speak out over the musical, but previously revealed that she doesn’t know whether she has ‘processed’ the outcome of the court case, as well as the viral moments.
‘I was just getting dressed and going to a pretty intense experience every day,’ she told the New York Times last month. ‘And the sartorial outcome was so weird to me.
‘That whole thing was pretty weird. I don’t know that I’ve even processed it. It was something I felt like I survived.
‘Sometimes in my life it takes me a long time to look back and process something and understand something.’

Gwyneth was present for every day of the trial and appeared on the stand to offer her side of what happened.
After a short deliberation, she was found victorious and awarded the $1 she was seeking.
‘I felt that acquiescing to a false claim compromised my integrity,’ she said in a statement at the time.
‘I am pleased with the outcome and I appreciate all of the hard work of Judge [Kent] Holmberg and the jury, and thank them for their thoughtfulness in handling this case.’
