Eagle-eyed Glastonbury fans reckon Sir Paul McCartney might have an ulterior motive for showing up at the festival…
The Beatles icon, 81, was spotted cheering for Foo Fighters when they took to the stage for their surprise set on Friday night.
Dave Grohl and co. rocked out on the Pyramid Stage, with Sir Paul and his wife in the wings, singing and clapping along.
Sir Paul even got his phone out to capture the incredible scenes, being the ultimate supportive friend given how close he’s grown to the band’s founder over the years.
However, some social media detectives have decided Sir Paul could have another role to play at Worthy Farm, suspecting Sir Elton John, 76, will bring him out as a surprise guest.
The Rocket Man is headlining for the first time on Sunday and has already teased surprises in store.

Could one of them be our favourite Liverpudlian music legend?
‘Paul McCartney watching the Foo Fighters secret set at #Glastonbury23 … sticking around to play with Elton John on Sunday? What else are the rumours apart from Britney Spears?’, one person tweeted.
Indeed, there are also rumours flying that Britney Spears will fly over from the States to duet with Sir Elton on Hold Me Closer, her first single since the end of her 13-year conservatorship.
She hasn’t exactly denied it either, with a series of cryptic Instagram posts only adding fuel to the fire.
Although, others think Sir Paul could be joining another big act…
‘So Paul McCartney was watching the Foos at side of the stage. Surely he’s there for “Live and Let Die” with Guns’N’Roses tomorrow?’, another tweeted.
Ahead of Sir Elton’s Glasto slot this weekend, it was revealed that he has not one, not two, but four guests joining him.

Sir Elton’s husband David Furnish confirmed the joyous news on Thursday, days before the big moment.
He told Sky News’ Beth Rigby: ‘Four collaborators of his choosing.
‘People, he just thought, “I’d really like to do something with these artists at Glastonbury”. And that’s all I’m going to say.’
Asked who they might be, Furnish said: ‘Sorry. I am sworn to secrecy.’
But he added of Sir Elton’s well-paid headline slot: ‘This one is very special. It is not just another day in the office.
‘It’s a different set list – it’s a huge outdoor live festival. He’s got four different collaborators joining him on stage at different times, who I won’t name, sorry.
‘So, he’s done a lot of changes. A lot on his plate, so I think he’s anxious. Yeah, but I think good, anxious, healthy anxious.’

Maybe Dua Lipa will show up for a Cold Heart duet? (Picture: Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images for dcp)
As well as Sir Paul and Brit, other possible guests who could surprise the crowd include Dua Lipa, who collabed with the Your Song hitmaker on pop tune Cold Heart.
Billy Joel, Lady Gaga, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Eminem, and Olly Alexander have also been suggested, so whoever walks out on that stage really will be a total shock.
