The cause of death of a Euphoria producer who died while driving his son has been revealed.

Last month Kevin Turen, 44, suffered a medical emergency while behind the wheel on November 12.

As he was driving along a freeway in California with his 10-year-old son, he suddenly became unwell, leaving his son needing to steer the car to the side of the freeway before dialling 911.

It’s now been reported that Turen died from heart failure, a result of multiple heart issue.

The medical examiner reportedly listed his official cause of death as acute cardiac dysfunction and hypertrophic heart disease, while coronary artery disease was also added as another factor, as reported by TMZ.

Turen, best known for his work on TV shows Euphoria and The Idol and films The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Malcolm and Marie, Pieces of a Woman and Waves, is survived by his wife of 11 years, Evelina, and their two sons, Jack and James.

When sharing the news of his son’s death, Turen’s father Edward said he’s been driving his younger son home from a tennis tournament.

They told TMZ that Turen was pronounced dead at hospital after suffering a medical emergency while his car was on autopilot, which helped his son navigate the Tesla to the side of a motorway before calling emergency services.

‘Kevin was so incredibly special, this world is going to be less without him,’ he said in a statement to Deadline.

His death comes after Euphoria actor Angus McCloud died earlier this year (Picture: HBO/ Kobal/ Shutterstock)

His death was the second tragedy to strike Euphoria this year following the sudden death of Angus Cloud.

The actor, who played loveable drug dealer Fezco in the beloved series, passed away at just 25 years old back in July due to an accidental overdose involving several different drugs.

It came after he was said to be struggling following the death of his father, who died just weeks before from cancer.

    Euphoria is streaming on NOW.
