Our hearts are broken (Pictures: ITV)
Emmerdale fans have been left in tears after saying goodbye to Faith Dingle (Sally Dexter), who died after choosing to end her life.
Faith told Moira (Natalie J Robb) about her plan to die a few weeks ago, explaining that she’d rather decide for herself as opposed to letting the cancer take her life away.
Moira – once again – kept Faith’s secret from Cain (Jeff Hordley) and Chas (Lucy Pargeter), which seriously impacted her during last night’s episode.
Following Faith’s incredible day at the village seaside, she was sat talking to Zak (Steve Halliwell) and explained that if she died tomorrow, she’d be happy. She’d be at peace.
During this entire conversation, Moira was watching on, fearing whether Faith was serious about her plan.
Tonight, Faith said her goodbyes to everyone.
She gave an heirloom to Sarah (Katie Hill) and encouraged her to travel the world, laughed with her friend Diane (Elizabeth Estensen), shared a few tears with Eric (Chris Chittell) and made sure she hugged Chas for the longest.

Led upstairs by Nate (Jurell Carter), Faith knew what she was doing – but then Cain arrived.
Cain was desperate to call an ambulance and take his mum to hospital but in the end, he gave in to her wishes and held her close.
As they reflected on the seaside experience, Cain had Faith in his arms as she peacefully passed away.
Faith Dingle – what an icon.
We’ve laughed and cried watching her life play out on screen, we’ve grown to love her and if these tweets from fans are anything to go by, everyone will miss our beloved Faith Dingle.
As the aftermath begins tomorrow, grieving processes from each character will be interesting to observe.
How will Chas cope, knowing she was with her secret lover when her mum died?
And what about Cain, who only reconnected with Faith in the last few months?
Many questions to ponder over but for now, we love you, Faith Dingle.
