Suni is the cousin of Jai (Picture: ITV)
There could be happiness on the way for Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) in Emmerdale, as it’s been confirmed a new character will soon arrive in the village – and he’s the cousin of Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson).
Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana will play the role of Suni. He will head to the Dales in time for Jai and Laurel’s (Charlotte Bellamy) wedding, but will also play a role in the storyline that recently saw Jai discover that he’s adopted.
It transpires that Rishi (Bhasker Patel) hasn’t actually seen his nephew for quite some time and is hoping he’ll be able to help in rebuilding the father and son relationship.
Right now, Rishi is still unable to admit to Jai who his real father is, and there appears to be no attempt to reconcile, so will Suni’s arrival fix things between the two characters?

Elsewhere, Suni is also set to provide a positive distraction for Nicky. His relationship with Ally (Joshua Richards) came to an end after he discovered the plan to bring down Home Farm, and he very nearly faced time behind bars after pushing Caleb (William Ash) from a ravine and leaving him for dead. Basically, Nicky could do with some happiness in his life right about now.
Jane Hudson, Executive Producer, said: ‘Suni arrives just in time for the wedding of his cousin Jai to Laurel but it’s Nicky who soon is making the most of his arrival. We are delighted to have Brahm join the Emmerdale family. He certainly hits the ground running as we throw him right into the heart of a big Sharma story.’

‘Confident, magnetic and very fashion conscious Suni looks forward to injecting some flair to the Emmerdale village. He’s not afraid to be his true self and go after what (and who) he wants. I think what Emmerdale does brilliantly is making sure there’s accurate representation of real people and telling their authentic stories.

‘Bringing a wonderful character like Suni to life on a continuing drama is incredibly important to me as it gives exposure to a demographic which is sadly still under-represented so I truly hope to do him justice, and thank Emmerdale and it’s fans for the privilege.’
Suni’s first scenes will air in the coming weeks.
