Vanessa Feltz has opened up about the nerves she faced going on her first date since splitting from Ben Ofoedu.

The 61-year-old TV presenter split from her partner of 17 years in February, after it emerged he had cheated on her multiple times.

The This Morning star has been open about her heartbreak and the huge change its been for her, as she and the 50-year-old Phats & Small singer were engaged.

She’s now on the hunt for love again, taking part in Celebs Go Dating alongside the likes of Lottie Moss and Chloe Burrows.

Talking about her experience on the show, she’s now admitted she was ‘terrified’.

She said: ‘Shock! Absolutely shocked to the core – terrified, shocked you know all that stuff. Also quite fun.’

Vanessa added to The Mirror: ‘I could hardly breathe, in fact, I still can’t… It’s a big old deal, really nervous.’

She continued: ‘[I was] in shock by the whole thing just shocked.

‘It was like, “What just happened?!” I think I will get more into it as the weeks go by because it’s only the beginning now, we’ve got lots and lots more filming to do.’

She elsewhere admitted she still doesn’t have ‘closure’, saying: ‘I think I’ve got a bit of a way before I get any closure. I don’t know about closure but it’s definitely a distraction. A good old distraction.’

This comes after Vanessa shared her nerves on her way to the first date, posting a clip to social media.

‘Oh em ge,’ she began, relatable as ever.

‘Going off on my first date for Celebs Go Dating. I haven’t been on a date for 17 years so just imagine how I’m feeling.

‘I can’t even find the words to describe it and I’m good at words, so I don’t know.

‘But that is where I’m going this morning and I’m wishing you all a lovely, lovely Friday.’
