EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite revealed she felt ‘amazing’ after ditching just one element from her meal plan.
The 52-year-old soap star admitted she was making changes as she entered menopause to combat its physical effects.
Tamzin revealed she was going alcohol-free after ‘suffering from the effects of drinking wine during the menopause’ and admitted that ditching the booze ‘new lease of life’.
The TV actress spoke about her lifestyle changes during her stint on BBC’s endurance show Feel the Fear.
She said: ‘Let’s just say I put on a lot of weight when I hit the menopause – over a stone.
‘I’ve never been one to diet but when I quit drinking, I lost the stone I’d put on and craved goodness like fresh salads and juices.’

Tamzin hasn’t had a drop of alcohol in the last six months since leaving the show and opened up about her perspective shift while chatting with Closer.
The star told the magazine: ‘It hit me I couldn’t drink like I used to and decided the best thing for me was to abstain. I took a break last year for six months…I felt amazing!’
She is a mother to two children Florence, 14, and Marnie, ten who shares with her ex-husband and fellow Lucifer star Tom Ellis, 44.
The pair of actors were married between 2006 and 2014, following which Tamzin found happiness again with her current partner, filmmaker Tom Child, 32.
She recently paid tribute to her other half – who she has been dating for the last five years – on Twitter and praised him for being a ‘dream stepdad’.
The star penned: ‘Deep down they know he is kind, he cares and loves them deeply and I know how lucky I am #stepparentgratitude [sic].’
Tom and Tamzin struck up a relationship in 2017 and have grown from strength to strength ever since.

Documenting their anniversary last November, the Mel Owen actress wrote a message to her beau signifying her feelings towards him on Instagram.
It read: ‘If it all ended tomorrow, I would be thankful and grateful and I know you would too … yet what we have is a unique and beautiful LOVE [sic].’
