This article contains major EastEnders spoilers for the Christmas episodes.
New details on Danny Dyer’s EastEnders exit this Christmas have emerged, as Mick Carter has a final showdown with killer Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks).
Janine is no stranger to killing off a partner, and Mick seems to be the next in her sights, as the cast and crew are currently filming high octane night shoots.
Details of a dramatic car crash which sends Janine and Linda (Kellie bright) over a cliff and into the ocean have already been revealed, but there are new developments.
Danny, along with a stunt double for more dangerous elements of the scenes, has been seen thrashing about desperately in the sea after diving into the waves to save beloved wife Linda.
In another scene, Linda is covered in blood on the beach, screaming at the top of her lungs in desperation.
With Mick submerged in the water, has he drowned and is this how Danny departs the show forever?
EastEnders films out of order, so in nightshoots, there is also a violent struggle between Mick and his current lover Janine, who is pregnant with his baby.

Mick is kneed in the groin by Janine after he grabs her in what is a fierce showdown, most likely due to a realisation from Janine that he is, as she suspected, still in love with Linda.
It is also highly possible that Janine’s web of lies around the previous car crash has been exposed.
Viewers know that Janine placed a drunk Linda at the wheel of the car and then subsequently tried to have her son Ollie taken from her.
The exact timeline of Janine and Mick’s scrap, Linda screaming, the car plunging from the cliff and Mick struggling in the sea remains unconfirmed.
But fans will recall a long running arc of Mick being unable to swim, so this is likely to be a major factor.
An EastEnders insider told Metro.co.uk: ‘Bosses are staying tight lipped about the exact nature of Danny’s exit but there’s no way his character would go out without a bang.
‘Exact details are being kept top secret but the show is pulling out all the stops to make it an explosive ending, which will no doubt leave the residents of Walford reeling.’
Other scenes see Janine departing the scene seemingly unscathed as she flags down a car to escape.

Has she left the man she claims to love to his fate? And will she flee the country or face prison for any crime she has committed?
After all, it is no secret that Charlie is also leaving the role after an 18-month stint.
And one factor is the temporary return of her brother Ricky, played by Sid Owen.
‘Ricky is coming home and his sister Janine is in a relationship with Mick and we’re building to something really climatic between them,’ producer Chris Clenshaw revealed to Metro.co.uk.
‘Janine has got her everything finally in Mick and the Vic, but we all know how strong the bond is between Mick and Linda and what they have runs very deep.
‘But we know what Janine is like and what she is capable of and the paranoia sets in. I won’t give away how Ricky comes back but it plays into the Janine story.’
And Danny has also promised an ending of all endings for the popular character; one only fitting for the landlord.

Back in June, he told Metro.co.uk: ‘We’re still in debate about how I’m gonna leave.
‘We’re negotiating what I think should happen and what the powers that be think should happen’
‘It may be that we never see Mick again. It’ll be an epic ending. It’ll be huge. And I think I want to put a full stop on the job, and I think it’s been an amazing 10 years I’ve had, I’ve loved every minute of it.’
The scenes being filmed are expected to air across the Christmas and New Year period.
