Karen made a shocking confession (Picture: BBC)
Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) left Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) absolutely stunned in EastEnders as she confessed to having helped Keanu (Danny Walters) kidnap Albie.
Albie, as viewers will recall, was taken by Keanu a number of weeks ago as he tried to stop Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) from taking the boy he believes to be his son out of the country.
He had second thoughts about the whole thing but with the police already involved it was too late to reconsider and thus he claimed Albie had been snatched while in his care.
Karen was appalled at him for doing such a vile thing but played along with the plan before playing the hero and having Albie returned safely to Sharon – that is, after £50,000 of Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) money was exchanged.
Keanu and Karen have been at war with one another ever since, which piqued Mitch’s interests and on Wednesday (November 29), he stumbled upon the mother and son in a heated argument and demanded the truth.
Unable to lie any longer, Karen came clean, showing Mitch the money as she revealed that she helped Keanu stage Albie’s kidnap.

Mitch was appalled, particularly because she had allowed him to believe that Albie was in grave danger for a number of days when she knew where he was all along.
Karen apologised profusely, revealing that she regrets what she did but reiterated that she was acting in what she thought to be the best interests of her son, believing herself to be a ‘bad mother’, as she reflected on Chantelle Atkins’ (Jessica Plummer) death.

Mitch was quick to clarify that he doesn’t think Karen is a bad mother at all but admitted that he doesn’t recognise her, coming to the conclusion that they must return all the money at once.
Karen, however, refused. Will Mitch be able to talk sense into her?
