A woman accused of murdering two of her children appeared emotionless as pictures of her daughter’s dismembered body were shown in court.

Lori Vallow – dubbed the ‘doomsday mum’ – has been accused along with her partner Chad Daybell of killing Tylee Ryan, 16, Joshua ‘JJ’ Vallow, 7, and Daybell’s previous wife Tammy Daybell.

Horrified jurors heard how Tylee was stabbed and hacked with either a cleaver or a machete.

Her body was so badly burned the coroner Dr Gareth Warren could only rule she died by homicide without giving a specific cause, MailOnline reports.

Whilst the grim evidence was being read to the court, Vallow chatted with her attorneys and sipped water.

She refused to look at the screen showing the images of her daughter’s mutilated remains.

Forensic scientists Douglas Halepeska told jurors Tylee’s pelvis has been stabbed with such force a fracture was created on the other side of the bone.

Her remains were delivered to Dr Warren in three separate sealed bags, with the autopsy taking almost a week to complete.

Prosecutor Lindsey Blake described how charred remains were all that was left of Tylee.

She told jurors: ‘You will hear it explained as a mass of bone and tissue. That’s what was left of this beautiful young woman.’

JJ was suffocated with a plastic bag taped over his face.

Their bodies were found in Daybell’s garden in 2020, but went undiscovered for almost a year.

The couple have also been accused of killing Tammy Daybell, who died mysteriously in her sleep in 2019 (Picture: Facebook)

Vallow is said to have become involved in a cult led by Mormon prepper Daybell, a podcaster and novelist who wrote about the second coming of Jesus Christ, demons and the apocalypse.

Prosecutors say the couple believed the children were ‘satanic zombies’ who stood in the way of their relationship.

The couple have also been accused of killing Daybell’s wife, Tammy, who died of asphyxiation a month after the children were allegedly murdered.

The couple then married two weeks later in Hawaii.

‘Remember, the defendant will remove any obstacle in her way to get what she wants, and she wanted Chad Daybell,’ Blake told jurors.

‘The defendant used money, power and sex to get what she wanted.’
