    Trump urges calm even as the US reports worrisome new virus case

    Arab News says President Trump declared Wednesday that a widespread US outbreak of the new coronavirus isn’t inevitable even as top health authorities at his side warned Americans that more infections are coming.Trump

    After Trump spoke, the government said a worrisome development: Another person in the US is infected – someone in California who doesn’t appear to have the usual risk factors of having travelled abroad or being exposed to another patient.

    At a White House news conference, Trump said the US is “very, very ready” for whatever the COVID-`19 outbreak brings. Under fire about the government’s response, he put Vice President Mike Pence in charge of coordinating the efforts.

    Milwaukee mass shooting kills six including gunman

    Aljazeera says an employee opened fire in a brewery complex in Wisconson, killing five fellow workers before taking his own life. milwaukee shooting

    The gunman was identified as a 51-year-old man from the city of Milwaukee, who died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. 

    “There were five individuals who went to work today, just like everybody goes to work, and they thought they were going to go to work, finish their day and return to their families. They didn’t – and tragically they never will,” Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said. 

    “It’s a horrible, horrible day for the employees here,” Barrett told reporters. “A very rough day for anyone who is close to this situation.”

    The UK to unveil post-Brexit trade talk goals

    BBC News says the government will publish its strategy for post-Brexit trade talks later, as it prepares for formal negotiations with the EU to begin. gov to unveil postbrexit trade talk plans

    Brussels has already set out what it wants from the talks – tariff-free trade but keeping EU rules on state aid, workers rights and other issues.

    The plan received a cool reception from No 10, with the PM saying he is prepared to walk away without a deal. 

    The government’s strategy will be put online and presented in Parliament.

    Saudi Arabia restricts pilgrimage to most sacred Muslim sites of Mecca & Medina over coronavirus

    RT News says Saudi Arabia has imposed a temporary ban on religious pilgrimage, known as Umrah, to historic Islamic shires in Mecca and Medina over the coronavirus outbreak that has recently spread to the Middle East. mecca suspended over covid19

    Saudi Arabia announced on Wednesday that the restrictions were put in place to “provide the utmost protection” to those living in Saudi Arabia as well as pilgrims and tourists willing to visit the country. 

    In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said that the government would suspend “entry to the kingdom for the purpose of Umrah,” as well as visiting the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, the second holiest site in Islam after the Grand Mosque in Mecca.
