FIFA executive Arsene Wenger has stated he was unaware of President Gianni Infantino’s plan to sell World Cup stakes to private investors, which was recently withdrawn after severe backlash from global football officials. Wenger described the decision to abandon the proposal as “absolutely necessary” for maintaining FIFA’s integrity.

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill stated that allegations of Hearts players being assaulted during a pitch invasion have not been substantiated. Police Scotland is investigating the claims made by Hearts shareholder Tony Bloom. O’Neill indicated that if evidence arises, appropriate apologies would be warranted.
