Easter might be two months away, but Cadbury’s has just announced a limited edition Easter dessert that fans are going wild for.
Arguably, it’s never too early to get excited about the various chocolatey goods available this time of year, from Mini Eggs to Malteaster Bunnies.
And this latest launch combines two of the nation’s favourtie treats in one bowl of heavenly mixture.
The Layers of Joy Eggciting dessert does what it says on the tin: it’s a giant Creme Egg trifle complete with silky layers of dairy milk chocolate mousse, sponge and flavoured dessert.
It’s perfect for sharing, but it looks so gorgeous that dipping a spoon in and enjoying it solo (almost like an egg and solider?) seems all too tempting.
Cadbury’s fans are egg-static about this sweet treat
This isn’t the first time this limited edition sweet treat has graced supermarket shelves. Cadbury’s first introduced it in 2018, so chocolate fans are simply egg-static that it’s returned.
‘Ooh that looks eggcellent,’ fan @willowcat124 wrote on Instagram.
‘Just ate a family size Creme Egg trifle @CadburyUK absolutely yum!’ chimed @PamelaGidd38304 on X, formerly Twitter.
‘Creme Egg trifle. Available at Iceland. Hurry, as I’m going to probably buy all of them,’ @FLP_Bateman joked.
However, it’s been deemed quite a controversial pudding by some – and sadly, not everyone’s filled with joy.
‘CREME EGG TRIFLE WTF,’ @thisaeshaw wrote.
‘Couldn’t think of anything worse than a crème egg never mind a crème egg trifle, ew,’ added @AnnaMaryyyyyyy.
Want to get involved? The price varies between £3.50 and £4, but it’s available in a range of both online and IRL supermarkets, including Tesco, Asda and Aldi.
Meanwhile, Nestle fans are raving about another Easter treat that’s returned to shelves – and many claim it’s ‘hands down the best’ egg-shaped delight.
Like the glorious Creme Egg trifle, the KitKat Caramel Cookie Collision Incredible Egg has caused an absolute stir.
The egg, which has a caramel-flavoured chocolate shell and real cookie pieces, is boxed up with two KitKat Chunky Caramel bars and a bag of KitKat Cookie Dough Mini Eggs.
And it’s the mini eggs that people are rejoicing about – not the actual shell itself.
‘@allthetimesnackin said they were their ‘absolute fave’ Easter chocolate, while @gracenicholass replied: ‘This is hands down the best Easter egg.’
