Get you up to speed: British tourist critically injured in hotel balcony fall in Thailand

Beth Klug, from Grimsby, Lincolnshire, fell from the fourth-floor balcony of her hotel in Pattaya, Thailand, on March 15, resulting in severe injuries, including a broken back in 24 places. Paramedics found her moaning in pain on shrubs beside the 22-storey building before she was taken to the hospital.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the fall of Beth Klug in Pattaya, as a police report is essential for the processing of her travel insurance claims, according to her friend Kim Lyall. Meanwhile, friends have initiated fundraising efforts to cover her medical treatment and repatriation.

Beth Klug’s friends in the UK are working to raise funds for her treatment and repatriation, while the embassy is attempting to expedite the necessary police report for her insurance claim. Police are reviewing CCTV footage to determine the cause of the fall from the hotel balcony.

A British tourist is fighting for her life with severe injuries from a hotel balcony in a Thai hotspot.

Beth Klug, from Grimsby, Lincolnshire, had returned to her hotel room before plunging from the fourth-floor balcony in Pattaya, in the early hours of March 15.

The holidaymaker is said to have broken her back in 24 places after she landed on a concrete plant box.

Paramedics found her moaning in pain while lying on shrubs on the side of the 22-storey building.

Beth was taken to the hospital as her friends in the UK try to raise funds for her treatment and repatriation.

A hotel security guard said: ‘While I was on duty, I heard a sound like a large object falling and hitting the bushes.

‘I rushed to investigate and found a human body that had fallen and was crying for help. I then immediately notified the authorities.’

Police said they were reviewing CCTV footage to determine the exact cause of the accident. A police report is required for the travel insurance companies.

Beth’s friend, Kim Lyall, said, ‘Beth has insurance, but they need the police report before they start paying. The embassy has been involved in hurrying things up.

‘She’s in a lot of pain, as you can imagine. She can’t move her arms at all. They shattered. So let’s pray we get her home soon.

‘She’s still a young lass on her own in a foreign hospital, laid up in pain. People need to show some compassion.’

Her friend Anna Mohammed visited Beth in the hospital and also issued a plea for help.

A week ago, a British tourist died, and his girlfriend was hospitalised after their drinks were ‘spiked’ in Thailand.

Tom Pardhy, 38, and Naomi Raksha, 31, had spent six weeks travelling around Thailand before they reached the country’s capital, Bangkok.

But on March 6, Tom, a yoga teacher and music promoter from East London, suddenly passed away.

Naomi’s mother reportedly posted on Facebook that the couple were ‘given spiked drinks in Bangkok,’ according to the Daily Mail.

Naomi was reportedly rushed to the hospital in a tuk-tuk, where she was intubated to save her life.

Her brother, Jonathan Raksha, has set up a GoFundMe page to help with her mounting medical and travel expenses.
