Brighton have now decided that Moises Caicedo is worth ‘at least’ as much as Declan Rice as Chelsea edge closer to agreeing personal terms for him.
That’s according to talkSPORT, who claim that the Seagulls want Chelsea to match the same price West Ham receive for Rice this summer.
Chelsea are the front-runners to bring in Caicedo after Arsenal dropped out of the race to sign the Ecuador international.
Caicedo has decided on a move to Stamford Bridge and ‘final negotiations’ are underway as the Blues reportedly get closer to striking an agreement over personal terms.
But the west Londoners are yet to negotiate a fee with Brighton, and it had been reported that the south coast club were looking to receive around £100m.
Caicedo may end up costing even more than that, though, with Brighton telling Chelsea to match whatever fee Rice is eventually sold for.
Rice will leave West Ham this summer and is strongly linked to Arsenal but Manchester City have since entered the race for the England international.

Arsenal’s opening bid for Rice – believed to be worth around £80m plus add-ons – was rejected by West Ham as a second club prepare to launch their first offer.
As well as Arsenal and City, Rice has also been linked to Chelsea and Manchester United, with the Blues asking West Ham to wait as they look to offload players before they go on another spending spree.
United, meanwhile, are still interested but their hopes of landing Rice could be dented by their ongoing takeover battle.
