Bray Wyatt’s new WWE theme song lyrics revealed as Code Orange publish cryptic Shatter words

Bray Wyatt returned to WWE at Extreme Rules and debuted a haunting new theme song for his SmackDown comeback a few days later.

The man formerly under a mask as The Fiend appeared to break character and bare his soul to the fans on Friday night before a perfect horror twist, with new Code Orange track Shatter providing a perfect soundtrack as he walked down the ramp.

From the haunting piano introduction to the pounding drums and anthemic chorus, the track – which reminded some fans of bands like My Chemical Romance – seemed to be a perfect mix of hope and tension.

Fans of the band and WWE are still eagerly awaited an official release, and Code Orange have continued to tease everyone by dropping the lyrics (which you can read in full below) on social media.

‘You can throw it all away, when things break/things shatter,’ the song begins. ‘Keep it written on your face. The little details matter.’

The next few lines refer to the song’s narrator – potentially meant to be Bray himself – as ‘the coil’, ‘the spring’ and ‘the ghost in the machine’, adding: ‘Only in me will your stain ever live to be.’

From there, the lyrics continue: ‘Die for me brother, know not what you’ve seen. Love one another, know not where you’ve been. Lie for me brother, know not what you’ve said. Use me for cover.

    ‘When things break, things shatter.’

The track describe how ‘a silver of thought can make even a thick head clatter, disappear without a trace, while the whole world’s laughing but it’s only in me’.

Now, it’s hard to know exactly how much the words relate to Bray and his comeback, but nothing about his return – even from the order his Firefly Fun House friends appeared in at Extreme Rules – feels like an accident.

And despite opening up like never before last week, fans still have no idea what to expect from this iteration of his character after his real emotional outpouring was halted by a sinister voice speaking behind the mask we saw him wearing at the premium live event.

WWE is Bray’s world now, and we’re along for the ride.
