Beer gardens don’t have to be special, but these certainly are (Picture: The Watering Hole / The Rising Sun / The People’s Park Tavern)
You can’t beat a beer garden in summer, can you?
If you’re struggling to find a good one, you’re in luck: the best beer gardens in England have been revealed, and they’re stunning.
Taking the top spot is a beer garden that is slightly different to the usual pub garden.
The Watering Hole in Perranporth, Cornwall, has a beer garden that features sand instead of patio tiles, and revellers can drink their pints while looking out at the ocean.
Plus, it’s the UK’s only bar, restaurant and live music venue that sits in the middle of the beach – no wonder it landed first place.

The Rising Sun in Pensford, Somerset, was named the second best beer garden in the UK, thanks to its sprawling, green beer garden that could have you fooled into thinking you’re at a festival, not your local.
The views are decent, too.

A London pub took third place.
The People’s Park Tavern, in Victoria Park, London, is home to the largest beer garden in the capital.
Looking out over the park, the beer garden has an indoor-outdoor greenhouse (which is great for those August drizzles) and even has a resident cat.

The Jolly Fisherman, in Craster, Northumberland and The Drunken Duck Inn, in Ambleside, Cumbria, were named fourth and fifth, respectively.
Also up north, Leeds’ Water Lane Boathouse, Manchester’s Escape to Freight Island and Liverpool’s Kazimier Garden all made the top 20.
The Canal House in Birmingham also made the list. Find your nearest one below from every major city … drrrrinks r us!
