Beautiful flower fields in California officially open
With so much politics dominating the news this week – lots of uncertainty too- it’s important to get back to nature and enjoy the positivity in the world.
In sunny southern California, there is a beautiful bed of blooms stretching 55 acres across the landscape, and it is officially open for the season – so tourists and locals can enjoy!
The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch have been captivating Californians with their incredible panoply of ranunculus flowers for decades, but have added other activities as well.
Ranunculus, also called Persian buttercups, are colorful little stars originally from Turkey. Thanks to flower legend Edwin Frazee and local growers, these blooms now shine in every color of the rainbow!
They’ve been brightening up California’s coastline for 100 years—and every spring, the fields burst into bloom starting in March. For just $27, you can stroll through this flower wonderland for about 5 to 7 weeks.
The fields are open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM, with fun extras like a sweet pea maze, tractor rides, sunflower fields, and even a giant American flag made of petunias!
