Hajj 2021: Pilgrims must be vaccinated against Covid-19 Saudi Arabia- The Saudi Ministry of Health has announced that the faithful who want to perform the annual Hajj pilgrimage this year will need to prove that they’ve been vaccinated against Covid-19. The statement did not specify whether the Hajj, which traditionally draws some 2 million pilgrims from across the world, would again exclude pilgrims from outside the Kingdom to prevent the contagion. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reported 2,526 new cases of Covid-19 on Monday, signalling the much feared ‘UAE Covid surge’ after conducting further 175,033 tests. These cases raised the total number of infections recorded in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic to 394,050.
