Several missing after ships collide in North Sea – officials Two cargo ships have collided off Germany’s North Sea Coast, leaving several people missing, authorities say. The British-flagged Verity collided with the Bahamian Polesie at around 05:00 local time on Tuesday morning. The Verity is believed to have sunk. The German coastguard said at least one person has been rescued and teams are searching for the missing. One person was rescued from the water and is being given medical care. The cause of the collision is still unclear.

Bangladesh: Goods train collides with passenger train killing 17 Two trains have collided in eastern Bangladesh killing at least 17 people, and leaving many others injured. A freight train slammed into the rear coaches of a passenger train in Bhairab on Monday afternoon. A rail official told BBC Bengali that a signal error was likely the cause of the collision. Off-duty pilot Joseph Emerson accused of trying to crash Alaska Airlines flight Joseph David Emerson, 44 has been charged with 83 counts of attempted murder after he allegedly tried to crash a passenger jet during a flight on Sunday night.
