Today’s news summary – Paper Talk If you are someone who reads every perspective of a story, here is a news summary of all of today’s front pages from today’s newspapers; summarised in a 2-minute read
It will come as no surprise that Tuesday’s front pages continue with their coverage of the upcoming UK general election. UK voters head to the polls on Thursday to elect a new party into power, with all opinion polls heavily suggesting a Labour government will be ushered into No 10.
With only a few days left the papers are firmly in their camps with who they are backing – and their front pages reflect that. The liberal left-leaning papers lead on Labour’s promises of a brighter future, whilst the traditional Conservative-supporting right-leaning newspapers warn their readers not to abandon the Tories and go to Reform UK. The papers say a vote for Reform will keep Labour in power for many years. The right-wing papers have accepted this general election loss and instead have focused on making sure the Conservatives remain the official opposition.
Elsewhere, US politics also finds space on the front page after the US Supreme Court ruled that former presidents are entitled to some degree of immunity from criminal prosecution.

Abulgazin, along with seven other Kazakh nationals, is being prosecuted for complicity to arson by Greek authorities. The fire, which burned through 300 acres on the island of Hydra, occurred during Greece’s first heatwave of 2024, with firefighters battling multiple wildfires daily. Initially, authorities believed fireworks were launched directly from the yacht Persephoni. However, new reports suggest the fireworks may have been set…
Trump asks for hush money conviction to be overturned Donald Trump’s lawyers have asked to overturn his conviction in the hush money case and delay his sentencing, citing a recent Supreme Court ruling. In May, Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records, with sentencing set for July 11. His lawyers argue that the records, signed during his presidency in 2017, should be considered official actions, now protected by the Supreme Court’s ruling on presidential immunity. Previously, a judge ruled that Trump failed to prove his actions were official presidential duties. The Supreme Court decision grants immunity for…

Supreme Court historic decision granting Donald Trump immunity After the Supreme Court’s decision on presidential immunity, Donald Trump celebrated on social media, calling it a “big win for our constitution and democracy.” Though Trump didn’t get all the protections he wanted, the ruling delayed his trial until after the November election. The six conservative justices’ decision weakened the federal case against Trump for trying to overturn the 2020 election results. Special Prosecutor Jack Smith’s team will need to rework their case and evidence significantly. The court’s 6-3 ruling ensures any prosecution will be delayed past November’s election. The justices set…
