DJ Ian Bell has died aged 60

Popular Australian DJ and music expert Ian Bell, 60, has reportedly died in Paris during a family holiday while en route to the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool.

A well-known figure on the Adelaide club scene in the 1980s and 90s, he had been photographed alongside the likes of Rita Ora and Spice Girl Mel C over his long and varied career.

He was also a record shop owner, and concert writer and photographer.

Bell is said to have died on May 2 in Paris after suffering a heart attack, according to local Adelaide publication The Advertiser.

It was planned to be the first stop on a trip that would culminate at Eurovision for him and his family.
