Friends was a popular sitcom set famously in the American city of New York, but now AI has imagined how it might have looked if it was set in the Asian country India.
Instagram artists Ente Kiduve and Anandhu Shaljan, used the artificial intelligence service Midjourney to create this alternative universe.
The images are undeniably beautiful, and show the characters partaking in a few different activities, and special events.
Included in the gallery are Rachel Green and Ross Geller, played by Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer, on their wedding day. This is something that we didn’t see in the ten series despite their long-running on/off relationship. She may have gotten off the plane, but the finale ended too soon after this iconic moment.
‘From we were on a break to we’re getting married!’ remarked the creators.
The artwork also shows Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry’s Monica Geller and Chandler Bing on their wedding day, as well as Lisa Kudrow’s Phoebe Buffay with Paul Rudd’s Mike Hannigan.

The caption read: ‘What if Friends TV series were shot in India!! They tied the knot, guys! 🥹🫶 Could we be any more traditional!’
As well as showing their alternative wedding days, they also showed the characters partaking in more mundane activities – from Joey Tribiani, played by Matt LeBlanc, eating all the snacks to Phoebe singing and Chandler typing away at his laptop.
The women are wearing saris, and the men are also in traditional dress, including kurtas, for the snaps.

Fans reacted enthusiastically to the posts, which have received over 45,000 likes. One person wrote: ‘Indian attire just elevate anyone’s beauty.’
Another added: ‘This is dope…!!!’
‘Phoebe is so pretty.. I want to cry,’ chimed in another person.
This isn’t the first time the group, who starred in Friends from 1994 to 2021, have been adapted through AI. They have previously been transformed into toddlers.
