Imane Khelif launches legal complaint over online abuse at Paris Olympics
Algerian boxer Imane Khelif has filed a legal complaint over online harassment following her gold medal success at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Khelif eased to a dominant victory over China’s Yang Liu to secure the gold medal in her 66kg event on Friday night, roared on my thousands of Algerian’s in attendance.
But her participation in the French capital over the last two weeks has been under intense scrutiny after she was disqualified from last year’s Women’s World Championships for allegedly failing International Boxing Association (IBA) gender eligibility rules.
The International Olympic Committee cleared Khelif to fight and has backed her inclusion throughout the Games.
