Jay Slater’s machete gang attack victim speaks out about missing teen
A man who had his skull exposed when he was attacked by a gang including missing Jay Slater has urged people to ‘help find this boy’. Social media sleuths have hooked onto Jay’s violent past, and police on Tenerife are considering whether his disappearance is linked with criminality. But Tom Hilton, who was attacked by eight teens wielding a machete, golf clubs and an axe when he was just 17, appears to have put grievances aside. England qualify for Euro 2024 knockout stage ahead of Slovenia clash
England have already secured a place in the Euro 2024 knockout stage ahead of their final group game against Slovenia on Tuesday evening. Thanks to a bizarre and complex rule, even if they lose tonight’s match and come third in their group, they will go through to the last 16. That is because four of the best third-placed teams out of all six groups will go through. France and the Netherlands are in the same boat, on four points with one game each remaining. EuroMillions jackpot hits £180,000,000 – so here are some of the luckiest numbers
A lucky person could be in with a chance of winning £180million in Tuesday’s EuroMillions jackpot. It means a fortunate person could be as rich as pop sensation Harry Styles who is worth £175million and Adele worth £170million, according to The Sunday Times. If this was all laid out in £50 notes it would stretch all the way from Southampton to Newcastle. If the notes were towered high they would be three times the size of the Great Pyramids of Giza. Editorial 25 June 2024.
Tuesday’s front pages have a little more variety than what we’ve seen over the past few weeks – with other domestic topics away from the general election finding themselves as the lead story.
The tabloids lead on the opening day of a trial of a man accused of plotting to kidnap, rape and murder TV presenter Holly Willoughby. Princess Anne’s accident at home – which has seen the 73-year-old taken to hospital, as well as England’s upcoming Euros match also make the front splash.
Elsewhere, politics make up the rest of the front pages with the left-leaning newspapers picking up on comments that the IFS think tank has said Labour and Conservative plans to improve public services are “essentially unfunded.” The right-leaning papers offer up their scrutiny of Labour’s plans if they are elected to government on 4 July.
