Erik ten Hag says Manchester United have ‘limited’ options(Credits: PA)
Erik ten Hag admitted he had very ‘limited’ options against Bayern Munich, in a worrying admission ahead of Manchester United’s trip to Liverpool.
United crashed out of the Champions League with a 1-0 defeat to the Germans at Old Trafford.
That consigned the side to a bottom place finish in their group, meaning United will not even have Europa League football to play in 2024.
Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial missed the game through illness, while Mason Mount, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Amad Diallo are long-term absentees.
Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw also came off with injuries, while Bruno Fernandes will miss Sunday’s trip through suspension.
And the Dutchman admitted, ahead of Sunday’s game, that he has ‘limited’ options at this moment in time.

‘That’s clear,’ Ten Hag said when pressed if injuries played a part in the result.
‘The players gave everything – you saw the spirit and, as I said, I have to credit the team, big compliment for the way they worked together as a team against this good Bayern side.
‘But, of course, when the game is going, you need energy from the bench, and especially in the frontline, the options were limited.’
