Arsenal have been handed a fresh injury blow after Eddie Nketiah was forced to miss training on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s clash against Sevilla.
The Gunners are looking to make it back-to-back wins over the Spanish side in Group B of the Champions League, having won the reverse fixture 2-1.
But with Gabriel Jesus already absent – and Nketiah now set for a late fitness test after picking up a knock in the 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United last time out – Mikel Arteta may deploy Leandro Trossard or Kai Havertz as his main striker.
Gary Neville recently raised concerns that Arsenal were ending games with Trossard in attack and urged them to sign a new forward in the January window.
Trossard is usually deployed as a left winger but can also be used as a centre-forward and the Belgian has registered four goals across 12 games this term.
Havertz, meanwhile, who operated as a centre-forward for Chelsea before his summer switch to the Emirates, has been moulded into more of a midfield player this season but Arteta may have to throw him back into his old position.
The German international has registered just one goal across his 17 appearances for the north Londoners.

Arsenal will be hoping that striker Nketiah, who has scored five times in 16 games this term, passes his late fitness test so he can start the match against Sevilla.
Meanwhile, captain Martin Odegaard is also a doubt for the Champions League clash at the Emirates against the La Liga club.
Odegaard was an unused substitute in the recent 5-0 win over Sheffield United and was also among the subs as Arsenal were dumped out of the Carabao Cup against West Ham last week. The Norway international missed the defeat at St James’ Park on Saturday after it was revealed he has been nursing a hip injury.
