Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have condemned ‘all acts of terrorism and brutality’ amid the Israel-Hamas war.
Israel has launched a barrage of airstrikes on Gaza after militants from Hamas, the armed group that controls the strip, crossed the border Saturday morning.
In the days since, Hamas gunmen have massacred and abducted Israeli soldiers and civilians as they continue to sweep through southern Israel.
Gazan paramedics are now struggling to save those trapped underneath the rubble of hospitals, schools and mosques damaged by airstrikes, while the blockade has been tightened to halt the entry of food, water and medicine.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex commented on the conflict for the first time in a statement posted to their Archwell Foundation website yesterday.
The statement said: ‘At The Archewell Foundation, with Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, we stand against all acts of terrorism and brutality.

‘We are supporting our partners and organisations on the frontlines in Israel to provide the urgent aid needed, and to help all innocent victims of this unconscionable level of human suffering.’
The comment comes on the heels of King Charles when a Buckingham Palace spokesperson said yesterday: ‘This is a situation His Majesty is extremely concerned about, and he has asked to be kept actively updated.
‘His thoughts and prayers are with all of those suffering, particularly those who have lost loved ones, but also those actively involved.
‘His Majesty is appalled by and condemns the barbaric acts of terrorism in Israel.’
Prince William and Kate Middleton later added that they were ‘profoundly distressed’ by the heavy-handed fighting.

‘The horrors inflicted by Hamas’ terrorist attack upon Israel are appalling; they utterly condemn them,’ they said in a statement shared by Kensington Palace ON X, formerly known as Twitter.
‘As Israel exercises its right of self-defence, all Israelis and Palestinians will continue to be stalked by grief, fear and anger in the time to come.’
The royals added: ‘In the midst of such terrible suffering, The Prince and Princess continue to share that hope without reservation.’
Hamas has killed at least 1,300 people and injured 3,000, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said yesterday. An estimated 150 Israelis, many of them civilians, have been abducted.
Gazan health officials said today more than 1,350 people have been killed and 6,000 wounded. The UN says 200,000 people in the strip have been displaced.
