Kanye West returned to the stage for the first time since an antisemitism row last year.
The rapper, 46, made a string of comments online about the Jewish community, including that he was going to go ‘Death con 3 on Jewish people,’ leading to him being banned from multiple social media sites.
He also lost lucrative deals with several companies, and was reported at the time to have lost his billionaire status.
Since then Kanye, also known as Ye, has stayed relatively out of the spotlight as he spends time with new wife Bianca Censori after his divorce from Kim Kardashian, who he shares four children with.
He has not performed any major shows in this time, but on Monday shocked fans when he joined rapper Travis Scott at his show in Rome.
Travis, who has two children with Kim’s sister Kylie Jenner, introduced Kanye on stage at his Utopia concert at the Circus Maximus venue by saying it had ‘been a long journey before we could get here.’

Saying he had ‘walked side by side with me through anything,’ Travis went on: ‘There is no Utophia without Kanye West.
‘There is no Travis Scott without Kanye West. There is no Rome without Kanye West.
‘Make some noise for Ye,’ he went on in footage shared to socia media.
Kanye then arrived on stage where the pair performed two songs: Praise God and Can’t Tell Me Nothing, in front of a crowd of 60,000 people.

The rapper had been spotted in Italy earlier that day with wife Bianca as the pair explored Europe on holidays, having previously been seen in Germany.
Kanye made headlines last week as he appeared to return to Twitter, which Elon Musk ha renamed X, after previously being banned.
However just a few hours after it returned, his account appeared to be suspended again, before coming back for the final time.

It’s said that while the Gold Digger hitmaker is back on the site, he won’t be eligible to monetise his account, and ads won’t appear next to his posts.
His return comes after Elon admitted he ‘tried’ to keep Kanye’s account active.
The Twitter owner tweeted: ‘I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.’
Stronger musician Kanye was first suspended from the social media platform in November 2022, having been restricted for tweeting an antisemitic message.
After returning once the platform was taken over by Elon, he was suspended again in December 2022 after sharing an image of a swastika blended with a star of David.
