Kelly Clark called in as captain Rachel Corsie drops out of friendlies
Scotland’s captain Rachel Corsie is out of the squad for both friendlies against Northern Ireland and Finland, with Kelly Clark drafted in.
Aston Villa defender Corsie, 33, has been set for a comeback after missing Scotland’s win over Australia and Costa Rica in April with an injury. But she’s out with an unspecified injury and will instead be replaced by Celtic skipper Clark, 29, who has four caps.
Scotland play Northern Ireland in Dundee on Friday and then visit Finland on Tuesday. The two friendlies are serving as preparation for the inaugural UEFA Women’s Nations League which kick off in September.
Scotland failed to qualify for this year’s Women’s World Cup after a play-off defeat to the Republic of Ireland.
Scotland are in the top division of the Nations League in a group with England, Netherlands and Belgium.
